Up to date, nine commercially relevant Mexican sharks are listed in Appendix II of CITES. Prior to export, CITES Scientific Authority in Mexico (CONABIO) issues Non-Detrimental Findings to support the sustainability of exports, and arrival notices are a key element to their expedition. This project will increase the reliability in arrival notices by training trainers (local champions) in the main fishing camps of the Pacific in the States, which accounts for 70% of total shark landings.
