Angel sharks are identified as one of the most threatened families of Chondrichthyan according to the IUCN Global Shark Trends Project. Many of the 23 angel shark species require urgent conservation. Three Critically Endangered species are found in the Eastern Atlantic & Mediterranean: Sawback Angelshark, Smoothback Angelshark & Angelshark. The Shark Trust will coordinate delivery on Regional Action Plan priorities in four key regions: Turkey; The Republic of & Northern Cyprus, & Tunisia.
