In 2019, Guatemala updated its National Plan of Action for Sharks, Rays and Chimeras (NPOA-Guatemala), which was developed as part of the Chondrichthyan Technical Group - an interdisciplinary committee comprised by representatives of the private sector, government, and civil society organizations. The main objective of this project is to contribute to the implementation of the NPOA-Guatemala, which seeks to manage chondrichthyans through research, institutional strengthening, and outreach.
