This project, based in Grand-Béréby, Côte d’Ivoire, focuses on the conservation of guitarfish within the region’s first Marine Protected Area (MPA). It was initiated by CEM in 2022 with funding from the SCF. Initial efforts included raising awareness among local communities and conducting sea patrols to monitor fishing practices. Building on these efforts, this project aims to gather crucial scientific data to support the implementation of sustainable management measures.
