The purpose of this grant is to support the efforts of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) - Argentina to protect threatened endemic shark and skate species found in Argentine waters. WCS will accomplish this through the:
- Development and adoption of a Patagonian Coastal Corridor marine protected area designed to protect a range of endemic shark and skate species during critical phases of their life cycle.
- Development and implementation of a targeted conservation action plan to improve the management of the regionally Critically Endangered tope shark in a key Marine Protected Area.
